How to complete an additional verification request during fund withdrawal

At CEX.IO, verified customers may receive an additional verification request during the process of withdrawing funds. This may occur, for example, when you link a new payment method (such as a new card), perform a successful deposit, then initiate a withdrawal to the same new card.

It’s important to note that this additional verification request has nothing to do with your account verification. Instead, it appears solely because it’s necessary to verify a newly added payment method. This is particularly important when attempting to use the new payment method to withdraw funds for the first time.

What should I do if I see a pop-up with an additional verification request?

If you see this pop-up message during an attempt to withdraw funds, check your email and/or Notification Center.

You’ll most likely be asked to verify your new payment method. In the bulk of these cases, we ask customers to upload a selfie with the new card. This is absolutely necessary to ensure the safety of user funds.

Here’s the steps to successfully complete an additional verification request:

  • Go to the Notification Center via your preferred browser, or the CEX.IO App (Go to the Wallet tab, tap on the profile icon at the top left corner, and select Notifications. Or, go to the Wallet tab and tap on the bell icon at the top right corner);

  • Look for the message requesting additional verification, or a selfie with a card. Click/tap that message.

  • Follow the on-screen instructions on how to take the selfie correctly, to ensure a smoother approval process.

Once the CEX.IO Compliance Department verifies the selfie, you’ll be able to withdraw your funds.
