How to complete a Payment Card Verification Request during funds withdrawal

At CEX.IO, even verified customers may receive an additional verification request when withdrawing funds. This typically happens if you’ve recently linked a new payment method (such as a new card), made a successful deposit, and are now trying to withdraw to that card.

It’s important to note that this additional Payment Card Verification Request is separate from your account verification. It’s specifically needed to verify the newly added payment method, especially when you’re using it for withdrawals for the first time. This quick verification step helps us ensure the security of your transactions and safety of your funds.

What should I do if I see a pop-up with an additional verification request?

If you see this pop-up message while attempting to withdraw funds, check your email and/or Notification Center: You'll likely be asked to verify your new payment method. In most cases, this involves uploading a selfie with the new card.

Follow the instructions provided to successfully complete the verification:

1 . On the website:

On the CEX.IO App:

  • Tap the Profile icon at the top left corner, and select Notifications

  • or tap on the Bell icon at the top right corner

2. Look for the message requesting additional verification, or a selfie with a card. Click/tap that message.

3. Follow the on-screen instructions on how to take the selfie correctly, to ensure a smoother approval process.

Once the CEX.IO Compliance Department verifies the selfie, you’ll be able to withdraw your funds.
