On 21 January 2026, the Polish Financial Supervision Authority (Komisja Nadzoru Finansowego, “KNF”) publicly announced that it adopted a decision to withdraw Quicko sp. z o.o.’s authorisation to provide payment services as a national payment institution. Quicko is the regulated programme partner supporting the current version of your CEX.IO Card. Quicko has also publicly stated that, as of the date of its statement, the KNF decision had not yet been delivered to Quicko.

Public information indicates that the current card programme is expected to be wound down and discontinued by 30 April 2026. However, because implementation steps and timing depend on the regulatory process and operational constraints, we cannot confirm uninterrupted card processing through any specific date at this stage. If any limitations apply earlier, we will notify you promptly.

We understand this may be inconvenient, and we want to reassure you that we’re already taking action to support continuity.

What does this mean for your current CEX.IO Card?

• Your card may be affected in the coming months, including potential discontinuation of card payments and other card functionality under the current programme.

• To avoid disruption, please avoid loading, sending, or routing additional funds to the card, especially as we approach the expected wind-down period.

• If you use your card for recurring payments (subscriptions, bills, etc.), please plan to update your payment method in advance.

• Keep your card balance low and allow time for pending transactions, reversals, and refunds to settle.

Is my money safe?

Yes. Your CEX.IO account balance remains safe and is not impacted by this update. This notice relates specifically to the current card programme supporting your card. Other CEX.IO platform features remain available as usual.

What happens next?

We are actively working to transition to a new card programme partner. We will share clear instructions and timelines as soon as they are finalized, with a focus on a smooth transition.

Onboarding pause

In light of expected wind-down of the current card programme, CEX.IO has paused the onboarding and issuance of new cards under the current programme with immediate effect. This is a precautionary operational and risk-management measure to avoid onboarding users into a programme that may be discontinued in the near term. We will resume new card onboarding once the replacement card programme is launched and we are able to provide confirmed timelines and terms.

Do I need to do anything now?

No immediate action is required. That said, to reduce the risk of disruption, please avoid routing additional funds to the card and prepare to update recurring card payments. We will notify you as soon as replacement cards and the transition plan are available.
