The CEX.IO Crypto Card lets you spend your cryptocurrencies like regular money as it’s Mastercard branded. Think of it as a bridge between your crypto world and everyday purchases.
Here’s the breakdown of how it works:
You can link up to four cryptocurrency accounts (wallets) from your CEX.IO holdings.
You also have a Euro (EUR) wallet that's always connected.
You decide which crypto wallet gets used first when you pay.
You can unlink chosen wallets at any time in your card settings.
When you buy something with the CEX.IO Card, the needed amount of cryptocurrency is converted automatically from your chosen wallet into Euros (EUR). The payment then goes through like any other Mastercard transaction. This means you don't have to manually convert your crypto to fiat before you shop.
Pay with crypto using Google Pay and Apple Pay
You can add your CEX.IO Card to digital wallets like Google Wallet or Apple Wallet for easy tap-to-pay purchases and contactless payments.
How to link crypto accounts (wallets) to the CEX.IO Card
You can change which crypto wallets are connected to your CEX.IO Card and the order they're used, through the card settings in the CEX.IO App. Here's how:
Open the CEX.IO App.
Swipe left to navigate the CEX.IO Card tab.
Tap on the Currencies section under the card balance.
Tap Manage in the upper right.
Switch the button next to currencies to link or unlink the wallets.
Hold and move the crypto accounts to change the order you want your wallets to be used.
How refunds are processed
If you pay with crypto and then get a refund, the money will go back to your Euro (EUR) account at CEX.IO.
Important Things to Know:
All payments made with the card are processed in Euros.
The card automatically converts your crypto to Euros when you pay.
Your Euro wallet is always connected to the card.
The card will use the wallets in the order you set them. If the first wallet doesn't have enough crypto, the card will use the next one.
