The CEX.IO Card is officially available for clients residing in the EEA (European Economic Area). In this article, you’ll learn how to request your card through the CEX.IO App, manage it, and use it for online and offline purchases.

How to request your CEX.IO Card

1. Open/log in to the CEX.IO App on your mobile device.

2. From the App home screen, swipe left to open the Card tab.

3. Tap on the Claim CEX.IO Card button at the bottom of the screen.

4. Verify your address if requested.

5. Read and agree with the CEX.IO Card Terms and Conditions.

6. Select currencies to link to your card. The balances of the selected currencies will be used to cover your transactions.

Please note that the Savings account balance will not be used to cover your expenses. You would need to transfer funds from the Savings account to a currency account to use it for card transactions.

Euro is the preselected fiat currency by default. You can link up to 4 cryptocurrencies you wish to your CEX.IO Card (5 assets in total).

Once finished, tap Next.​

7. In the next step, you’ll need to set the priority of assets for Card payments. Transactions will be executed following asset priority and available balance. Euro asset has the highest priority that can’t be changed.

Once you’ve set your payment priorities, tap Done.

Please note that the balance of the first asset on the list will be used for card payments, when available. Should it run out, your Card will automatically switch to the next available currency balance from your preferred list.

8. Set up 2FA (phone method) if requested. A verified phone number is required to verify CEX.IO Card on the Google/Apple wallet. It also might be used to re-send the OTP code to your phone number to confirm online transactions if you didn't receive a push notification with the OTP code in the app.

That’s it! You will receive a push notification once the card is issued. Usually, it takes up to 5-10 minutes.

How to manage your CEX.IO Card

1. Open/log into the CEX.IO App on your mobile device.

2. From the App home screen, swipe left to open the Card tab.

3. Check card details by tapping on the card.

4. Tap on Card Management at the bottom of the screen.

5. In the Card Management sub-menu, you’ll be able to select from a variety of management services.

  • Connect your CEX.IO Card with Apple/Google Wallet. Tap the namesake button in the Card Management sub-menu. You’ll be taken to a window containing detailed steps on how to connect your card.

  • Check daily and monthly spending limits.

  • Check the Terms and Conditions anytime.

  • Freeze/Unfreeze your CEX.IO Card.

You can freeze your card to ensure that no further transactions can be made.
