Passing Address Verification using the CEX.IO App is a straightforward process that unlocks a range of possibilities within our broader product ecosystem. Examples include increased deposit and withdrawal limits, and access to a variety of currency pairs.

How to prepare for Address Verification using the CEX.IO App

Follow these steps:

  • Log in to your account via CEX.IO App;

  • Tap the Profile tab in the upper left hand corner;

  • Select Verification from the menu;

  • Tap on Address Verification;

  • Provide a document that proves your place of residence. Examples may include a tax return, bank statement, or utility bill.

Once ready, tap Start. The Address Verification process is described in detail below.

Select the type of document

Confirming your address of residence is the first step in passing Address Verification. As mentioned above, doing so requires a document with your name and address clearly visible.

After presenting an eligible document, use the drop-down menu to select the type of document being provided.

If you decide to provide a document not available in the drop-down menu, please note that you will need to enter additional details.

Simultaneously, your chosen document must meet the following requirements:

  • It contains your first and last name, current address of residence, and the issuer’s credentials (logo of the institution) on the same page;

  • It clearly notes its date of issue, and falls within the last three (3) months;

  • It must be issued with Latin characters, or with a visible transliteration into Latin characters;

Select how to upload a chosen document

Customers can upload photos from their device gallery, take a snapshot, or upload a file from the device storage.

Please ensure that all letters and digits are clearly visible and readable. If necessary, you can submit photos of up to ten (10) pages.

NOTE: Please do not use any photo editors to modify your photos for address verification.

Enter your address details

Input your street address, apartment/suite number (optional), country, state/province, county (for U.S. residents), city, and zip code. After filling in all of the required fields, double-check that the information is correct, and tap Next.

(Optional) Link a social media profile

Linking a social networking profile during the Address Verification process may provide additional information that helps confirm your data entries. You may choose to link at least one social media profile with CEX.IO App, such as Facebook, LinkedIn, or Twitter.

In case you do not wish to link any social media accounts, tap Next two times. Your application will be sent for review without information about your social media profiles.

Final step

Once your address has been verified successfully, you’ll receive an email from our Compliance department to the email address used to create your CEX.IO account.

Following the completion of this process, additional payment methods become available, along with increased deposit and withdrawal limits.

Information about available payment methods may be found on our Limits and Commissions page.
