We’re winding down in Canada & request to withdraw funds

Due to the changes in the regulatory environment, CEX.IO services will no longer be available in Canada as of Saturday July 15, 2023. The only permissible functionality on your account after this date will be to withdraw your balance. In advance of this change, we ask that you take immediate action to avoid potential inconvenience.

To ensure a smooth transition, please withdraw all funds from your CEX.IO account before July 15, 2023, although users will be able to complete the process through October 5, 2023. After this date, withdrawal will require additional steps and coordination with our Support Team.

If you hold digital assets with us and wish to withdraw them in cryptocurrency, Canadian Securities authorities require that the tokens be withdrawn to one of the entities listed here.

Why are services being discontinued for Canada-based users?

Unfortunately, changes in the regulatory landscape have left us unable to continue providing services for Canada-based users. As a result, we must wind down our business in the region.

When will functionality become limited for Canada-based users?

The only permissible account functionality beginning on Saturday July 15, 2023 will be to withdraw your balance.

What will happen to my funds after July 15, 2023?

On July 15, 2023, functionality on your CEX.IO account will become extremely limited, and we encourage withdrawal prior to that time. . Withdrawals will be allowed until October 5, 2023, however after this date any further actions to withdraw funds will require assistance from our Support Team.

In the event any funds are held on your CEX.IO account after the October 5 cutoff date, and CEX.IO has no record or contact with you, the law in your jurisdiction may require us to report and deliver such funds to the relevant authorities as unclaimed property.
