There are two major ways users can change the emails associated with their CEX.IO accounts:
Use the Change email option via the Profile menu if you have access to your account and your current email.
Submit a request to our Support Team for an email change if you have no access to your CEX.IO accounts or current email.
How to change your email address via the Profile menu
1. Log into your account, and open the Profile page in the upper right corner.
2. Click Change next to your current email address.
3. Read the warning notice, then click Confirm. We will suspend withdrawals on your account for 48 hours for security purposes.
4. You'll then receive a verification code at your current email address. Enter this code, as well as your two-factor authentication (2FA) code.
5. Enter your new email address. Please note, that after changing your current email address, logging in using it will be no longer available.
6. You'll then receive a verification code at your new email address. Enter this code and click Confirm.
7. You have successfully changed your email address.
How to submit a request for an email change to the Support Team
If you cannot access your account, contact the CEX.IO Support Team via live chat on support.cex.io to request an email address change.
Click the live chat button at the bottom right corner.
Navigate to Messages, and then choose Contact Support.
A bot assistant will begin a conversation and will provide several categories to specify the request. Choose Account queries.
After that, select Account email change request, and follow the instructions to proceed.
Keep in mind that for security reasons, the process includes verifying account-related information, and required ID confirmation photos.
What ID verification photos are required for an email address change?
Identity document β A photo of your ID, along with a handwritten note stating "CEX.IO, Email change" + your name, and the current date.
Selfie with document β A selfie holding the same ID, next to the handwritten note.
