Since 2013, CEX.IO has always sought to improve access to the crypto ecosystem.

However, due to changes in the regulatory landscape, we’ve been forced to make a difficult decision regarding services for Hawaii-based users. CEX.IO will be discontinuing deposits for users residing in the state.

This change will take effect April 21, 2023 and will be implemented across our product ecosystem.

To ensure a smooth transition, we encourage users located in Hawaii to convert their assets in the method that best suits their individual needs, and close their accounts on our platform.

For reference, please see our Terms and Conditions.

We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause, and appreciate your cooperation.

FAQ

Why are deposits being discontinued for Hawaii-based users?

Unfortunately, changes in the regulatory landscape have left us unable to continue providing services for Hawaii-based users. As a result, we must wind down our offerings.

What were the terms and conditions of Hawaii service?

CEX.IO Corp. is providing services to you as a participant in a special Hawaii project which ends on December 31, 2022. At the end of the project term, CEX.IO may be required to close all accounts for Hawaii customers and cease operations. CEX.IO Corp. will notify Hawaii customers in advance if accounts must be closed. Hawaii customers who choose to open accounts with CEX.IO are advised that the virtual currency or digital currency purchased, whether as an investment, for making payments, or other purposes, may lose value, including the loss of some or all of your original purchase amount.

When were deposit services discontinued for Hawaii-based users?

April 21, 2023.

What will happen to my funds after April 21, 2023?

After the deadline, deposit services will be discontinued and access to our platform will be limited for Hawaii-based users. Therefore, we recommend converting any funds ahead of the April 21, 2023 date to ensure a smooth transition off our platform. Conduct a personal risk assessment to determine whether fiat or another digital asset is the most prudent course.
