According to Clause 8.4 of our Terms of Use, CEX.IO allows only one account per customer. If you have multiple accounts, please follow the steps below to withdraw or consolidate your balances into a single account.

1) Select an account that you wish to keep on CEX.IO

Choose the account you want to retain, preferably one that has already been verified. If your account is not verified, we strongly recommend completing the verification process as soon as possible.

If you want to keep an account where you haven't completed verification, please note that you will only be able to complete verification on that account after your verified account is deleted.

To avoid waiting additional time to access our services, we recommend keeping your already verified account.

2) Decide How to Manage Funds from Extra Accounts

You have two options for handling the funds in your additional accounts:

  • Withdraw funds using standard methods where available.

  • Convert your assets into a single cryptocurrency/fiat and withdraw them in one transaction.

Before proceeding, review applicable fees and transfer times to determine the most efficient withdrawal method.

3) Consolidate Funds into One Account

To close your extra accounts, all funds must be withdrawn to an external account. Due to technical and compliance restrictions, direct transfers between CEX.IO accounts are not possible. However, you can consolidate funds by withdrawing to an external wallet or your personal bank account/ payment card and then depositing them into your chosen CEX.IO account.

Consider different blockchain options for consolidation:

  • XRP and XLM offer fast and low-cost transactions.

  • Other cryptocurrencies may have benefits suited to your needs.

Before finalizing any transactions, carefully review all associated fees (trading and withdrawal) and estimated transaction times to make an informed decision

4) Contact Support team

You need to contact the Support team. Make sure you reach out from the account you want to delete.

Other questions:

1) Amount Too Small to Trade or Withdraw

Check the value of your remaining funds to determine if it is worth withdrawing. If needed, you may deposit additional funds to meet the minimum withdrawal limits. Please note that CEX.IO employees cannot move balances between accounts, but our support team is available to assist you.

2) No Access to the Old Account

If you have lost access to your old account (e.g., forgotten password or 2FA key, no access to the old email address) and standard recovery methods do not work, our team can assist you in restoring access. Be prepared to verify ownership of the account.

3) What Happens If You Do Nothing?

If you leave extra accounts unattended, they may be considered dormant under Section 16.2 of our Terms of Use.

If more than twenty-four (24) months elapsed without the User signing into his/her Account, or without making the Deposit, and the User’s Account has a balance of more than five United States dollars (5 USD) or equivalent in any other currency, CEX.IO may qualify this Account as dormant and transfer its balance into CEX.IO’s special segregated in order to secure the User’s Funds upon 31 (thirty-one) calendar days prior email notification to the User. The Account shall be deactivated.
