How to change password for your CEX.IO account?

A guide on how to update your password for better account security or restore it in case you forgot or lost account credentials.

A strong password serves as the frontline of online security, safeguarding users' finance and crypto accounts and protecting their sensitive information. For enhanced account protection, remember to treat the password with utmost confidentiality and avoid sharing it with anyone.

Below you will find a guide on how to update your password for better account security and how to restore it in case you forgot or lost account credentials.

I forgot my password and can’t sign in

To reset your password:

  1. Go to the CEX.IO main page and click the Sign in button in the top right.

  2. Click on Forgot your password? on the Sign-in page

3. Enter your email address and click Continue

4. We’ll send you a confirmation email to the address associated with your account.

If you don’t receive an email confirming the password change, please follow the instructions below:

  • Check your junk/spam box. The emails might have landed there instead of your inbox;

  • Add "@cex.io" to your email safe list;

  • Check if any filters are set up on your account that mark emails from CEX.IO as read and send them to a separate folder;

  • Make sure there are no issues with your mailing server;

  • Clear cache/cookies and try resetting the password again.

5. Confirm changing the password by clicking the Confirm button in the email.

6. After clicking the button, you’ll be redirected to a page where you can create a new password. Please use a strong password, following the recommendations, and confirm it.

7. You are all set and can sign in to your account with new credentials.

I remember my password but want to change it for higher security of my account

To change the password:

  1. Sign in to your CEX.IO account using the current credentials.

  2. Click on the Profile menu in the upper right and choose the Security tab.

3. Click the Change button in the Password section.

4. Enter your current password, then provide and repeat the new one. Click Change password to proceed.

5. You have successfully changed your password. A pop-up screen about a successful password change will appear.


6. After that, you’ll be asked to sign in to your account again with new credentials.

When creating your new password

  1. Make sure no auto-fill option is activated in your browser. Auto-fill features can mistype your password after you change it.

  2. Choose a strong password. We recommend that your new password has:

  • 10 or more characters

  • A mix of lower and upper-case Latin letters

  • Digits and non-letter symbols
