CEX.IO is pleased to announce support for the migration of DAI (DAI) to USDS (USDS). This transition aligns with the latest ecosystem updates from the Sky (formerly MakerDAO) project. For more technical details, please refer to the official project.
How the Migration Works
The migration will be automatic for all CEX.IO users holding DAI in their accounts. No manual action is required on your part. To ensure a stable transition, please follow the timeline below.
1. Pre-migration (April 10, 2026)
To maintain the integrity of the conversion process, all transactions involving the legacy DAI token will be paused.
CEX.IO Wallet: Deposits, withdrawals, and Instant Buy services for DAI will be disabled.
Warning: Legacy DAI wallet addresses will be deactivated. Do not attempt to deposit DAI after this date, as these funds may be permanently lost.
Spot Trading: All active DAI trade orders will be automatically canceled. We recommend closing any pending trades before April 10.
2. Migration Period (April 11–19, 2026)
During this window, our system will perform the backend transition. All DAI holdings will be converted to the new USDS token at a 1:1 ratio.
3. Post-migration (April 20, 2026)
Once the migration is complete, the new USDS tokens will be credited to user accounts. Full services will resume, including:
New USDS deposit and withdrawal addresses.
Instant Buy functionality for USDS.
Spot Trading for new USDS pairs.
Note on Tokenomics: The project team has confirmed that the tokenomics remain unchanged. This migration is a rebranding and upgrade; the value of your holdings will not be diluted by this 1:1 conversion.
