CEX.IO will support the conversion of Frax Share (FXS) to Frax (FRAX) as part of the token migration. For more details, please refer to the official website.

How will CEX.IO migrate FXS tokens

The migration will be automatic for the holders of FXS on CEX.IO, requiring no action from the users. Below is a brief overview of how it will be implemented.

Pre-migration (January 29)

All transactions involving FXS will be paused to secure the integrity of the process. The affected services:

  • CEX.IO Wallet (deposit, withdrawal, Instant Buy, Convert)

FXS wallet addresses associated with CEX.IO will be deactivated. Any FXS deposits initiated on or after January 29 risk permanent loss.

  • CEX.IO Spot Trading (FXS/USD and FXS/USDT markets)

All active FXS trade orders will be automatically cancelled. To avoid disruption, please close your pending FXS trades before this date.

Migration

After migration is complete, all FXS tokens held in user wallets will be automatically converted to FRAX tokens at a 1:1 ratio. If you hold FXS, we’ll reach out to you individually once the migration is complete and the new tokens have been credited to your balance.

Full services for FRAX will be resumed, including:

  • Deposits and withdrawals

  • Instant Buy and Convert

  • Spot Trading

The migration process will be done with stringent security measures in place to protect your assets. The FXS’s team claimed that the tokenomics of the new FRAX tokens remain the same, ensuring that your holdings retain their value post-migration.
