Guide to Enhanced Verification via the Web

After you verify your identity and address, you can pass Enhanced Verification to increase deposit and withdrawal limits and get a dedicated manager to assist you with platform activities.

To start, go to the Verification section in your account and choose Enhanced Verification. Before you move on with verification, check that you have all the necessary documents at hand. You will need:

  • a valid ID document (national ID card, international passport, or driver’s license) different from the one you used for Identity Verification;
  • proof of funds document (salary statement, bank statement for the last 3–6 months, tax return, a screenshot of trading activity, a screenshot of mining activity, or any other financial document);
  • a blank piece of paper and a pen.

Block 1. Source of funds

Step 1. Check the boxes next to the sources of your fiat funds and indicate your monthly income. Press Next to proceed.

Step 2. Indicate the source of crypto funds, if you own any, or press Next to skip.

Step 3. If you plan to withdraw crypto funds, indicate the withdrawal destination, or press Next to skip and proceed.

Block 2. Proof of funds

Step 1. Check the box next to your source of funds. Once you do so, you’ll see an attachment symbol and will be able to attach a file proving the origin of these funds.

You can attach a file in two ways.

Option 1. Take a photo with your mobile phone

Scan the QR code on your screen with your smartphone. Alternatively, you can copy the link and insert it in the browser on your mobile phone. After you’ve done so, take a photo of your document with the mobile phone and check that all elements are clear. If they are, click It’s readable. If they aren’t, retake the photo.

Option 2. Upload files

You can upload photos from your computer. Press Add a photo and select a file on your computer or simply drag and drop a photo from your computer to the browser. You can submit files in PDF, PNG, JPG, and GIF formats. After you’ve added a file, confirm that all details are clear.

You can upload up to 10 pages if required.

After you finish uploading files, click Next and you’ll be redirected to the screen with other sources of funds. Now you’ll be able to upload other documents as proof of your funds. You’ll also have a chance to replace any of the documents you previously uploaded or upload additional documents by pressing the Edit button next to the document type.

Once you’ve uploaded all necessary documents and are ready to move on, press the Next button.

Block 3. Additional proof of ID

Step 1. Select the type of document you’ll provide.

Step 2. Submit a photo of the document in one of two ways.

Option 1. Take a photo with your mobile phone

After you’ve done so, take a photo of your document with the mobile phone and check that all elements are clear. If they are, click It’s readable. If they aren’t, retake the photo.

You can upload photos from your computer. Press Add a photo and select a file on your computer or simply drag and drop a file from your computer to the browser. You can provide files in PDF, PNG, JPG, and GIF formats. After you’ve added a file, confirm that all details are clear.

Note: For a national ID card or driver’s license, you’ll have to capture both the front and back of the document.

Step 3. Take a selfie with your identity document and a handwritten note. Write “I’m a CEX.IO customer” in pen on a blank piece of paper and include the current date in DD/MM/YYYY format and your signature. Take a selfie of you holding your ID and the handwritten note next to your face.Example.png

Option 2. Upload files

Step 4. Fill in the fields with relevant personal information: your gender, first name, middle name (if applicable), and last name.

Step 5. Provide your nationality and date of birth.

Step 6. Provide information from the ID: serial number, date of issue, issuing country, and expiry date (if applicable). Click Next to move to the next block.

Block 4. Employment details

Choose your employment status in the drop-down menu. Then provide relevant information depending on your employment status.

  • If you’re employed, provide the name, phone number, and website (optional) of your company and specify for how long you’ve been employed by this company. Next, indicate the industry in which you work and your position. Also provide the company address, including street, apartment/suite (optional), city, and zip code.
  • If you’re self-employed, specify the type of business you’re involved in and for how long you’ve been self-employed.
  • If you’re unemployed, state your source of income.

Block 5. Questionnaire

Fill in the questionnaire.

Step 1. Indicate your primary banking jurisdiction, the purpose of your account, and planned monthly turnover.

Step 2. Check the appropriate boxes if you have any relation to politically exposed individuals and provide details about your position (if required). Also, check the appropriate boxes if you’re a US citizen or resident or are subject to US taxes for any other reason.

Block 6. Declaration

Tick the I agree box, then click Next and sign in the respective field. Click Next to send your verification application for review.

Once there’s a decision or an update on your application, you’ll see the status in the Verification section of your profile and receive an email notification.
