I've bought a CEX.IO voucher on eBay and it doesn't work.

The voucher is likely already used, and it seems that you are a victim of fraudulent action of a person who sold the voucher to you.

Purchases made on third party websites are done at your own risk and we are unable to take any further actions. We are able to provide necessary information for investigation if you send us an official request from your local police authority.

    You can't know if a voucher has been used or not, atm. If you need to "cancel" it, the only way I know is to redeem it yourself.

    PS: it would be extremely useful to know who redeemed a voucher, because people who sells GHS on ebay etc. is getting frauded by paypal chargebacks and unauthorized payments...

    I would like to know 9971df's question as well, I sold some DVC and they're saying the code was invalid, they made a claim on PayPal and they gave their money back so I lost the DVC I sold and the money I got for it and as far as I know there's nothing I can do.

    It seems that we just sell them based on trust since these are suppose to be used as gifts to people and that sort of thing.

    This is mainly the reason that I dont use paypal for cases like this.
    I have sold 2 times the Gh/s both only at a collegue on my work....

    Maybe we should create a safe zone site for trading GHS vouchers.. with only trusted buyers and sellers.. No other way with scammers.. Paypal is the problem not ebay...

    I have sold 5 gh on ebay 2 days ago, the buyer say me thanks, put me a good rating on ebay, ask me if I had more to sell, I had nothing more at that moment. Then the buyer open a case in paypal and block my money. I think in case like that CEX.IO should allow to track voucher code, It's obsiously a lake of security from CEX.IO .

    @zorgone,
    We do not offer any security on vouchers, excepting errors within our own system.
    This is clearly stated in this announcement in the news section:

    @Mark

    To annonce something does not make it normal, sorry.
    It's obsious that CEX.IO now the ID off the user of a voucher code, the time he use it and the IP... all this should be in easy acces in the transaction tab. I don't ask cex.io to run after thief, what I ask it's a way to proves that the trasaction is regular.

    @zorgone,

    The problem is that the user that redeems the voucher may not be the same user that scammed the voucher in the first place, maybe this user has been unwittingly sold the voucher in good faith.
    Vouchers were never intended to be traded in this way, as stated in the announcement and in our FAQ section, and to do so is at your own risk.
